Tribal Fusion Layering Techniques (Level 3)

Tribal Fusion Layering Technique (Level 3)

When it comes to bellydance technique, one thing that separates the advanced dancers from beginners is their ability to layer moves effortlessly. Layering is when a dancer performs different moves together at the same time, i.e. layers of moves. It can involve traveling while performing a technique that one wouldn’t normally travel with.

Tribal Fusion Belly Dance is a modern Western form of belly dance. The name is a misleading misnomer, as it has nothing in common with ATS (American Tribal Style) besides the fact that the mother of TF, Jill Parker, performed ATS before developing Tribal Fusion style. Although credited to Jill Parker and Ultra Gypsy, the style has been popularized by Rachel Brice (and The Indigo) and her distinct style. Tribal Fusion Artists frequently incorporate elements from Popping, Hip Hop, ‘Egyptian’ or ‘Cabaret’ belly dance, as well as movement principles from traditional forms such as Flamenco, Kathak, Odissi, and other folkloric and classical dance styles.

Prerequisite: This is a level 3 and higher course and requires Level 2 certification in the Nazeem Allayl Studio Style.
